We offer dietetic consultations face-to-face at various locations (below) on the NSW MidCoast. Video or phone consultations are also available and they are becoming increasingly popular due to their convenience. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive.
What are the fees to see a Dietitian?
From 1 July 2026, Dietitians MidCoast will be implementing changes to our fees and processes as below.
Private Fees
If you do not have a valid referral from your GP:
Initial Consultation (45 min): $100
Review Consultation (30 min): $80
Most private health funds will subsidise consultations with an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Check your health fund for your eligibility.
Medicare Fees
If you have a valid Medicare Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) or Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) then the following fees will apply:
Initial Consultation (45 min): $100
⁃ $36.60 out of pocket with $63.40 rebate from Medicare
Review Consultation (30 min): $80
⁃ $16.60 out of pocket with $63.40 rebate from Medicare
Please note that it is the client’s responsibility to check how many GP referred services they have left for the calendar year.
GPCCMP include 5 allied health services in total per calendar year (not just for Dietitian)
EDP include up to 20 dietetic sessions per calendar year.
If these sessions are used, any further appointments will be charged at our private fee.
Bulk Billed Fees
If you have a valid Priority Allied Health Services (PAHS) or DVA (Gold Card) referral then no fees apply for these referral types.
Who is eligible to be referred to Dietitians MidCoast under PAHS?
⁃ Health Care Card Holders
⁃ Pensioners
⁃ Patients on a low income who would not otherwise be able to access a local service provider.
How do I make an appointment to see a Dietitian?
We will require all new clients to book appointments online, so we can capture important referral information and obtain payment details to secure the appointment.
For our existing clients, we will send you an intake form to complete so we can gather updated information and securely obtain your payment details.
Payment details are now required to secure your appointment. These will not be used unless payment is required for a Medicare or Private appointment (where no valid referral has been provided).
We now require clients to bring a copy of their referral to their appointment or email a copy before your appointment. If a referral is not provided, our private fee will apply.
How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment you can do this by clicking the ‘appointment link’ in the confirmation email that you receive once you have booked an appointment online. This will open the MANAGE YOUR APPOINTMENT web page (see below).
Select the ‘reschedule‘ option if you want to change your booking. When you choose a new appointment your previous appointment will be automatically cancelled.
Select the ‘cancel‘ option if you want to cancel your booking but not reschedule. Note that if you cancel your appointment first, you cannot reschedule – you’ll need to create a new booking completely.
IMPORTANT: If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment we’d appreciate at least 48 hours notice so that we can then offer your timeslot to somebody on the waiting list. If you do not turn up for your appointment without giving us advance notice then you will be given a lower priority should you choose to reschedule.
You may also leave a message at 0447 897 015 (this number is checked infrequently) or email us at office@dietitiansmidcoastnsw.com.au.

At which clinics can I see a Dietitian for a face-to-face consultation?
Our Dietitians currently conduct face-to-face consultations with clients at the following locations on the NSW MidCoast:
- Forster Tuncurry Specialist Centre (Forster)
- Intalink Therapy Solutions (Taree)
- Ochre Medical Centre (Tea Gardens).
You can book online for all of these locations.
If none of these locations are convenient, you can book a telehealth (video or phone) consultation instead. In this instance, the Dietitian will either send you a link for the video call or phone you at the scheduled time for your appointment.
